Options: c'è mancato poco che l'acqua rovinasse il pavimento · è in arrivo · sto per perdere la pazienza

Show answer

How it works

You know stare per + infinitive (about to). Essere in arrivo is the set way of saying someone is just about to arrive.

Good to know

For something that nearly happened but didn't, say c'è mancato poco che + congiuntivo imperfetto: c'è mancato poco che l'acqua rovinasse il pavimento.

Good to know

Mandare all'aria means to ruin (a plan, a project), and andare a farsi benedire is the colloquial "to go to ruin".
