Italian grammar
Auguri fissi: che + congiuntivo
Wish someone well with che + congiuntivo (and buon appetito).
From the scene Che vi vada bene (I hope it goes well for you)
In short
Fixed wishes use che + congiuntivo: che vi vada bene, che vi divertiate. Buon appetito is a set phrase.
Your turn
Which one goes with I hope they rest?
Options: che si riposino · buon appetito · che vi vada bene
Show answer
I hope they rest → che si riposino
How it works
Italian has fixed wishes built with che + congiuntivo: che si riposino, che vi vada bene, che vi divertiate.
Good to know
They are short for "spero che…" — you just change the person. Buon appetito is a fixed phrase and doesn't use che + congiuntivo.
