How it works

Italian can use the past participle on its own for an action just completed.

Good to know

Appena atterrati (as soon as we've landed), una volta arrivati (once we're there). It agrees with the people it refers to (atterrati, arrivata).

Good to know

For "right after doing it" use dopo + aver/essere + participle: subito dopo averlo fatto.

Good to know

For "on / at the moment of" Italian often uses al + noun: al decollo, all'arrivo. The main verb carries the tense.
