Good to know
In formal texts, mit dem Ziel, … zu + infinitive states an aim when the subject stays the same (wir haben uns mit dem Ziel zusammengeschlossen, unsere Wohnungen zu retten).

Careful with "so that": damit expresses an intention (so that they read it), sodass a result that simply follows (so it isn't needed). Both send the verb to the end.
