Anzeigen-Stil: Gesucht: / Benötigt: — nur das Partizip

Understand and write "wanted / needed" notices, poster-style.

From the scene Statisten gesucht (Extras wanted)

In short

Posters drop werden and start with the participle: Gesucht: Statisten. In speech, use the full passive.

Your turn

Which one goes with people needed (poster)?

Options: Gesucht: Hund · Benötigt: Leute mit Erfahrung · Gesucht: Statisten

Show answer

people needed (poster) → Benötigt: Leute mit Erfahrung

How it works

Posters and small ads drop werden and start with the bare participle: Gesucht: Statisten (extras wanted), Benötigt: Leute mit Erfahrung.

Good to know

In speech you use the full passive you know, often with the participle first for emphasis: gesucht werden Statisten — werden agrees with the plural noun, the participle never changes.
