German grammar
Als oder wie? länger als, genauso wie; nicht „besser wie“, nicht „als wie“
Use als after a comparative and wie for the same degree, and spot „besser wie“ and „als wie“.
From the scene Besser wie…? (I think of that…)
In short
After an -er comparative use als: länger als. For the same degree use wie: genauso wie. Avoid „besser wie“ and „als wie“.

How it works
After a comparative (the -er form: besser, schlimmer, länger), standard German uses als: länger als der Roman.
Your turn

Options: wie · so · als
Show answer

Exactly. Bigger, better, worse? Then „als“.
Good to know
For the same degree, use wie: so wie ich, genauso wie Elena. Besser wie is very common in speech in many regions, but it is not standard.

Als wie together is not standard either: als alone is enough.
