How it works
Ceder means to give way, to concede a little. Un término medio is a middle ground, and llegar a un acuerdo is to reach an agreement.

Ni tanto ni tan calvo is a colloquial Spain idiom for "let's not go to extremes", and ¡trato hecho! closes the deal: "it's a deal!".
