Tutti, ogni

Talk about everyone, everything and each thing.

From the scene Lo sapevano tutti (Everybody knew)

In short

Tutti takes a plural verb: lo sapevano tutti. Ogni never changes and takes a singular noun: ogni giorno.

  • everybody knew lo sapevano tutti
  • you suspected everyone sospettava di tutti
  • every day ogni giorno
  • all of us are… siamo tutti…

Your turn

Which one goes with you suspected everyone?

Options: lo sapevano tutti · ogni giorno · sospettava di tutti

Show answer

you suspected everyone → sospettava di tutti

How it works

Tutti = everybody / all of them, and it always takes a PLURAL verb: lo sapevano tutti (everybody knew), unlike English "everybody knows".

Good to know

Ogni + singular noun = each / every (ogni giorno).

everybody knew lo sapevano tutti
