Italian grammar
Tutti i tempi del passato insieme (ripasso)
Tell a story that mixes the passato prossimo, imperfetto and trapassato prossimo naturally.
From the scene Tutto quello che abbiamo vissuto (Everything we have lived through)
In short
Spoken past: passato prossimo for events, imperfetto for how things were, trapassato for earlier still.
Your turn

Options: tutto quello che abbiamo vissuto · si è sposato Tomás · lavoravo
Show answer

How it works
Spoken Italian uses the passato prossimo both for recent events and for finished ones (abbiamo vissuto, sono arrivati, si è sposato Tomás).
Good to know
The passato remoto is mostly for books and history.
Good to know
The imperfetto is for how things were (lavoravo), the trapassato for what had already happened before (avevi già perso le chiavi).
