French grammar
Ne … pas : la négation
Say no and refuse things politely.
From the scene Je ne veux rien (I don't want anything)
In short
Wrap the verb in ne … pas: je ne cuisine pas. After it, un / des / du become de: pas d'argent.
Your turn
Which one goes with I haven't got any money?
Options: je n'aime pas les bananes · je n'ai pas d'argent · je ne cuisine pas
Show answer
I haven't got any money → je n'ai pas d'argent
How it works
Put ne before the verb and pas after it: je ne cuisine pas. Ne becomes n' before a vowel: je n'ai pas, ce n'est pas.
Your turn
Pick the word that fits the line.

Options: pas ai · n'ai pas · ne ai pas
