Le, la, les

How it works

To avoid repeating a noun, replace it with le, la or les, meaning "it" or "them" (direct object pronouns).

Good to know

Use le for a masculine singular noun, la for a feminine one, and les for any plural. They go before the verb, and in the past before avoir.
