From the scene À ta place... (If I were you…)

In short

Advice: à ta place, je + conditional (infinitive + -ais): je commanderais. Aller becomes j'irais.

Which one goes with in your place, I'd order?

Options: à ta place, j'irais · je ne porterais pas · à ta place, je commanderais

Show answer

in your place, I'd order → à ta place, je commanderais

How it works

To give advice, French says à ta place, je… (in your place, I…) + the conditional.

Good to know

For most verbs, add -ais, -ais, -ait, -ions, -iez, -aient to the infinitive (drop the final -e of -re verbs): commander → je commanderais, porter → je ne porterais pas, s'inviter → elle s'inviterait.
