Möchte, möchtest, möchte
Order a drink and say what you want.

In short
Use möchte to ask politely for things. With a der-word, ein becomes einen: einen Kaffee.

How it works
Möchten = would like (a polite way to say want). Ich möchte einen Kaffee = I'd like a coffee.

Möchte is the same for ich and er/sie; du takes möchtest, and polite Sie takes möchten.

With a der-word like der Kaffee, “a” becomes einen after möchte: einen Kaffee.
