Understand and give simple directions.
From the scene Nach rechts (To the right)
In short
Give a friend directions with the verb alone: geh, bieg ab. With Sie, add Sie after the verb.
- go straight on (du) geh geradeaus
- turn right (du) bieg rechts ab
- turn left (du) bieg links ab
- go straight on (Sie) gehen Sie geradeaus
- turn right (Sie) biegen Sie rechts ab
Your turn
Which one goes with turn right (du)?
Options: bieg links ab · bieg rechts ab · geh geradeaus
Show answer
turn right (du) → bieg rechts ab
How it works
To tell a friend (du) what to do, use the verb with no ending and no du: geh geradeaus = go straight on.
Good to know
Abbiegen (to turn) is separable, so ab goes to the end: bieg rechts ab. To someone you call Sie: gehen Sie geradeaus, biegen Sie links ab.
